Title: Forum For Digital Music Servers
Post by: BNAL on March 10, 2012, 05:41:56 PM
From all the threads on different O/S based music servers maybe it would be a good idea to create a forum section for music servers and have it broken down by O/S. I know that I have been finding the different treads very informative.

Brad,

I just noticed the new picture.  When did that change?

A sub folder in the Digital folder of music servers would be good.  I imagine there are too many operating systems out there to make each a sub folder.

I changed it again. I got board with the other, as I have had it for quite awhile and needed a change.

One of the things I'm looking at doing in the future is to build a dedicated music server to replace my modified Squeezebox2. I have not decided on a platform as of yet and would like to have a location on the forum that deals with servers, so that I can get in site on what others have done and what they think the results are with each platform.

I think that least there could be one for music servers, but it could have three sub categories for, Windows, Linux, and Apple (OS X).

I'm just one voice.

Brad,

There is a lot of excitement around music servers here.  The 3 threads are getting a lot of views and posts.  Whenever I decide to jump into it I will need these threads.

Yes, it would seem to me that music servers is a good daughter board.  But I don't know how much trouble that is.

I wish there was a way to breakout information on music server within the Digital forum, so that DACs and servers are separated.
