Title: Wright WPL 20 Schematic
Post by: kwsharp on March 13, 2012, 04:10:05 AM
I know this is off topic, but some folks at Audio Asylum suggested that George had friends here.  I am having trouble with my WPL20 and need the schematics.  Anyone know of a source?

Thanks,
   -Ken

Hi Ken,

Actually, George didn't believe in writing his schematics down and basically built each piece individually.  Many people have looked for schematics but as far as anybody knows there just aren't any.

Good luck,

Jim

All true, I was one of the guys who went through his entire house looking for them after he passed away.

Hi Ken,

I got a WPL20 at George's estate sale but it's without the power supply.  Maybe we could share some information to help each other.  I've traced some of the schematic for the preamps I have and could use some info about the power supply.  You can write to me via personal email and maybe we can get our gear working together.

Doc,
Any reason we shouldn't share this info?  Even though George is gone, I don't want to do something inappropriate.

All the best,
John

I'm sure it's fine to share anything you guys draw up. Be forewarned that George seldom built something the same way twice, so there will be variations from amp to amp.

I have some pics of two WLA12A line stage units that I can upload. By the sounds of it the audio circuit is similar. I'm not sure about the power supply.

I'm rebuilding the power supply of my WLA12A right now... after some mods I seemed to have fried something resistors in the 6X5 rectification section.
