Just a heads up.  As of today 28Mar12, Tubemonger has a few GEC CV4086 tubes in stock which will fit into the Eros.  This was originally a flying lead tube of which they attached a base.  This batch has a narrower base so that it will fit into the sockets with shields.  This is said to be one of the best EF86 type tubes available.

Of note, I have no affiliation with Tubemonger, just a happy customer :)
