Tom,

Burning Amp is a huge diy amplifier/speaker/whatever festival in San Francisco where Nelson Pass, among others are always there with some pretty wild amps and speakers and more.  Never been myself, but everybody I know who has gone has had a great time.

The name is a spin-off of the Burning Man festival.  You can find out more on diyaudio.com

Here's a link to the 2011 festival, the 2012 requests and info will be here later.  Had a great time at the last few, it's worth the trip to get good sounds, good crab and good ideas on all types of diy stuff.
