My father-in-law is goign to want to have his amp back here soon when he gets his second room going so I started to look for a tube amp to go with my quickie.  Note: I am currently using a SS amp, Adcom 6000.

A guy I know recommended the elekit I linked above cause it uses 6L6 tubes like the Macs.  however, there is also a elekit with the 2A3 like the stereomour that is more expensive so I was thinking I would be better off staying with the bottlehead stuff(which I would also prefer) but I need to watch the finances at the moment.  I am hoping that selling some random stuff I have will get me enough for the stereomour but has anyone heard the elekit? How does it compare?

I think if you read that review you linked to carefully (IE read all of it), the answer is very apparent (read the last 4 paragraphs).

It's interesting that the comparison is of an amp that got a less expensive transformer later in its life vs. Stereomour, which now uses a more refined and more expensive transformer than when it was conceived as Paramour 12 years ago. Unfortunately the amps are so different in their execution that its a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
