Title: Wow, my kids rock.
Post by: Doc B. on June 13, 2012, 02:26:50 PM
I don't do the tedious proud parent thing much even though I do think my kids are awesome. So I will take an opportunity to crow a bit - both kids have been accepted to the university of their choice. Kate made early acceptance to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising last year and is now going to high school and Olympic College in order to graduate and get her AA concurrently in 2013 before heading to LA. And today's big news was that Colin, who got his AA from Oly last year and who has been working hard this year to save money, just found out he has been accepted to the University of Washington where he plans to study International Relations.

Their dad will be looking for side work ;^)> Hammond organ service a specialty, shooting instruction available, and I even know how to make croissants!

Congrats Doc !!!  It isnt easy these days, you can parent well and it can still be a crap shoot.  You cant do any better than 2 for 2  ;D
Funny you should mention it as I had considered getting an instructor cert. in basic pistol shooting as a little extra income wouldnt hurt with one of mine in college.
I should have just bought a load of Ruger and Smith and Wesson stock    >:(

Very cool Doc!

Congrats to Kate and Colin!
That's great to hear that Colin has decided to take the plunge. As someone who spent a few years in the "real world" before entering college, I don't think I would want to do it any other way. Not for everybody of course, but it really helped me to have my head screwed on a little better (I think?).
