Title: goldpoint resistor recommendation
Post by: John Roman on June 21, 2012, 09:36:05 AM
I've decided to replace my smd type Goldpoint attenuators with the customizable version. What specific resistors are recommended? There are 24 of them so cost is important. Vishay-Dale? which version? Other suggestions?
Thanks ,
John
Also, what brand of resistor comes in the FP3 kit?

I've used the metal film Vishay/Dale RN55 and they worked well.  Low noise and flameproof coating.  (They also seem to be called CMF55 - maybe the mil-spec designation?)

I could be wrong here but the resistors included for the attenuators in the FPIII kit look like good old Xicon metal films to me.  If I had to bet on it, I'd bet thats what they are.    Im sure one of the gang will correct me if Im wrong.
