I'm considering bi-amping my current system. I currently have 300B Paramounts which I'd like to use for the tweets and mids only. I'm considering adding another pair of 300B's for the bass. To those who have this type of set up I'd like your comments. Specifically the differences I could expect to hear. My speakers are an open baffle for the tweets and mids with the bass in a ported enclosure. They use passive crossovers. As always thanks for the help.

The major difference Will come from getting ride of the speaker level crossovers. IME.

What are you going to use for the active crossover?
You will want to match the slopes and crossover points of the stock crossover to begin with. Then play with the slopes if you seem to have congestion.
You will get lower distortion with the limited frequency range. You should have greater dynamics as well.

Had my eye on a Marchand active tube based crossover but someone snapped it up.
Thanks anyway gents!
