Title: Tiny Desk Concerts
Post by: ironbut on July 26, 2012, 06:29:52 PM
This intimate concert series was dreamed up by NPR's Bob Boilen (directed  and chose the incidental music for All Things Considered) and Stephen Thompson.
Performers are invited to come and play at Bob's desk at the NPR offices. I don't know if it's the location or the idea but it seems like an awful lot of musical magic goes down in front of those overstuffed bookcases.

When you watch, be sure and click on the HD button. It looks and sounds much better.

Be sure and check out the "Brandi Carlile" video.
I haven't watch them all, but that one made me kiss my monitor in gratitude!

Another good one. A bit like Lucinda Williams but with a smoother voice.

Thanks,

Thought I'd bump this thread as a reminder of this great series of concerts from NPR.
