Title: Stereomour manual question
Post by: rusty-jade on August 02, 2012, 12:47:07 PM
I am currently assembling my Stereomour and have a question regarding the manual. On page 45,  the instructions and picture state to attach (and solder) a black wire from socket pin B9 from one end  and attach but not solder the other end to 8L.  However. I notice later on page 60 and 61, the pictures show the same wire being attached to 9L. So are the instructions on page 45 in error or the pictures in 60 and 61 incorrect?

I think it's actually option three: 10L. I somehow missed this when fixing some other issues in that manual, but I just checked, and Shawn had made a note about this issue. I believe the reason was that 8L was getting pretty crowded; both 8L and 10L are on the ground buss, so either should work. The pics on 60 and 61 are at a bit of an odd angle, which makes it look like the wire goes to 9L. If you look at 62 you can see more clearly where it is going on.

You may want to wait for a smart person to confirm this.

Fullhead is correct. With my build, I soldered the wire at 8L because putting it at 10L would get it in the way with the cathode resistor and I think the path is shorter also.

I attached and soldered it to 10L as per Fullhead's Option 3, then realized that it was touching the cathode resistor, which I understand can get pretty hot.  Can it be attached to 9L as per the picture in page 67 or must it be jammed into 8L?

I looked at it again and 9L is a no-go as it is not part of the ground buss.  So it's back to 8L!
