Title: strange.....
Post by: proud indian on August 06, 2012, 06:45:41 PM
Presently, I am doing up my new listening room and I am 90% done. I had the system on from Saturday afternoon onwards, as I needed the power line to break in. I have put in new house wiring and also new sockets etc.
On Sunday afternoon, suddenly one channel dies for a few seconds and comes back. I swapped the IC on the channels and everything was fine.Thinking it could be the IC, I changed them with another set. A few hours later, I heard a slight distortion on the right channel, which again went dead for a few moments and came back to life. No problem since and both channels are working perfectly fine. What could be the problem?
Thanks

shreekant :)

Most likely an intermittent connection. Usually there is a mechanical connection, which drifts with temperature stresses. Usually a cold solder joint, sometimes just a bad -or dirty - socket connection, rarely something inside  a tube.

Thanks.... I will check for a bad solder.
