I have a couple of vintage Bogen public address amps that I have converted to guitar amps by adding 1/4" jacks. One of them I even had a local guy rebuild into a Marshall JTM45. They are pretty sweet guitar amps, and they have robust iron. Some of these amps were capable of 100% duty cycle. So my question is, what's the difference between a circuit designed for public address, and a circuit designed for hi-fi? Could these be used for full range music in a home system? Could they be used as PA amps for a garage band? I hooked one up to a speaker I built, and thought it sounded pretty good, but I only had one, so no real way to set it up and do some critical listening.
