I share Grainger's capacitor obsession, but tube collecting has quietly snuck up on me. I have wayyyy too many now, especially after settling in on a pair(s). It comes as a surprise that there are tubes I've got I've never heard, they've never made it into the starting lineup.
One of these days I"m going to cull the herd...one day when I'm retired.
Anyone else have too many tubes than is healthy?

yep - them's some tubes! You cant have too many caps or tubes, IMO.

Amen Brother to all of the above.

My tube inventory growth problem is the result of "Best and Final" syndrome. I get/build a new circuit and go through the "This is the best that I have ever heard and my final piece of kit for this function. I'd better load up on tubes for it!!" Great idea and prudent planning...until the next "Best and Final" comes along! ::)
