I increased the depth and stretched the height just a bit. I'm going with a traditionally covered grill on the front, with the aluminum back. I cut the new front plate, front baffle, and back plate on the water jet at my shop. I hope to get the tolex on in the next couple weeks, then start building the amp. Anyone else have Tode pictures to share?

Wow, that's nice! I like it!
I'm considering doing something similar. I'll probably be carting my amp around, and it would get beat up if I went with the standard case.

No promises on how the speaker will sound in that box. It was chosen specifically for the shallower cabinet and aluminum baffle, so it may sound quite different in the deeper and thicker wood box. Hopefully it will sound good for you. The quality of the work looks excellent, but I have to admit that after spending a lot of time on what I feel are some pretty innovative ideas it is a little disheartening to see someone take those out of the design without trying them first.

Good point Doc, I'll build it in stock form first. You know I'm a big fan of your designs, no offense was intended. I guess I just got the cart in front of the horse.

Thanks Justin. Wasn't really offended, just hoping that we can build a database of modification experience like the other kits. Would love to hear your impressions of the two different cabinets.

Yea, I'm waiting for Tode user to start posting more comment and mod ideas too. Surely someone is thinking of adding tremolo or reverb. ;)

it's going to be a little tricky to fit effects into the little cab, particularly with the direct coupled circuit. My plan is to offer some pedals that will go into the input of the amp including tremolo, overdrive/distortion, maybe a wah, etc., all tube powered. That will start next year.

Sweet!
