Hello,
I am new to the forums, so any input/assistance is greatly appreciated. I built the Crack kit a few months ago, and I have noticed some significant oxidation on the transformer shell/cap. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing, or if this is abnormal and needs to be checked out.
If anyone else has experienced the same thing, is there a good way to get rid of it / prevent it from happening again?

The transformer bell end is raw steel that has merely been hit with a light coating of protectant when manufactured. The bell can be oiled, waxed, painted, clearcoated etc. If it has oxidized you can buff it up with steel wool and then just use a little car wax or paste wax on it now and then. You can also cut a mask out of cardboard that just fits over the bell and covers the rest of the amp, and then shoot the bell end with clear coat. Either one is pretty easy to do.

Thanks for the tips. I will try to use some steel wool to remove the oxidized areas. I just wanted to make sure that there was nothing wrong with the way I had assembled the kit. Thanks Doc!
