SHIVER ME TIMBERS! THERE ARE PIRATES ABROAD. Just went to 'Audio Circle' website for the hell of it, and one of the topics was about a $50 buffer amp. The power caps for that buffer 6,800uf, but wait a minute, the next photo shows the capacitor disassembled, and a 2,200uf Rubycon cap resides inside! I CAN'T EVEN THINK LIKE THAT! Shocking and yet, strangely imppressive sirrr. You bastard. Can't even pony up for a real cap. I'm still in shock. God, where is the number to my therapist?

Timber my shivers! Where's the motivation in that? Surely it can't be the profit motive! cunning?

I have heard tales of all kinds of counterfeit electronic parts coming into the US. Black Gate caps are one of the favorites. I expect Rubicons to be another. Transistors and ICs have been reported. Mostly the counterfeits are not up to spec, or nameplate value in the case of capacitors.
