Title: Why doesn't the rest of the world laugh at us even more than they already do?

As often as not I am embarrassed to be American. This is not "reality" TV , these are apparently real people. But they sure seem like they came from central casting -

This is a country of more than 300 million people.  Quite a few aspire to central casting...john

Not only is it em-bare-assing, but it is an escalating tragedy and we have no idea how it will end. It is as if this country is experiencing a state of mass hysteria/insanity with all of this hate, and senseless violence going on. I guess we can feel somewhat comfortable knowing that we have our whack-job politicians representing us for the whole world to see.

I only hope that my optimism, and faith in our young is not misplaced for the sake of the young.
