Title: crack speedball built .. question!!

I have all built and sounds great so far, but noticed leds on small boards are not nearly as bright as the big board and 9 pin leds.  is this normal?

Yes, this is normal.  The LED's on the smaller PC boards and the LED's on the 9 pin tube socket are carrying 2-3mA, while the LED's on the larger PCB are carrying about 8mA.
