Title: One down, one to go!
Post by: bjorgens on March 03, 2013, 07:13:23 PM
First attempt at a post failed, so here goes again...Left channel done, hope to have the right one completed soon.  Many thanks to the bottlehead folks for providing me with such fun and distraction :)

Apologies for the poor quality phone pics...

Absolutely beautiful. Wardsweb would approve of those top plates. And I'm really digging the bamboo bases from Blumenstein, very understated and classy.

Thanks... I must admit that I cheated a bit and had top plates fab'd from 304 #8 finish stainless. :)

The blumenstein bases really are pretty... Kudos to Molly and Clark for their work !

Very nice lookin'.  What kind of cap do you have there hovering over the 4-pin socket?

Hey Bryan,

You saw the sale on the duelunds too, eh? ;-)

I just ordered a pair of 1.0 uF cast pios for my new preamp.  Thought about the Eros output caps too, but I don't want too many pios in the system and I'm going to stick with the vcap CuTFs there.

Good decision Jim, I have them in the Eros phonostage PB built for me and love them.

Cheers, Hank

I also think that PJ calculated that you could use as low as .22 uF there with no sonic penalty, and I also think Grainger connfirmed this.

I'm also thinking about the tftf .01 and .015s for the RIAA caps, but I'm a sickey.
