Title: telefunken 3s4
Post by: underdawg on March 22, 2013, 03:36:05 AM
The telefunken 3s4 is the only tube I was not able to obtain for testing in my quickie. Does anyone feel generous to part with one pair for a reasonable price? If so let me know please.
Thank you

dawg - I havent looked lately for tubes - you might have to do some real digging to find some - I remember having to search around on ebay to find them.

I'll mention again Vintage Tube services on the web. Andy has extensive knowledge and many years of experience. His testing methods are more complete than any I have seen. He is presently tesing some GE 3S4 tubes for me, and will ship next week. With the stock that he has on hand, I wouldn't be surprised that he has what you need.

they pop up every once in a while on Ebay.  I had to wait several weeks before I was able to find a pair.

the vintage RCAs are very close in my opinion.  I swap back and forth with the tele's every few weeks and dont feel an immediate urge to take them back out.

I think I have a pair at home that I would be more than happy to part with.  I won't be home until Friday but if you still need a pair let me know and I will look.

Quite happy to!  If I remember correctly, always the question, they are still sealed in the cellophane.  But I don't need them so I will check on Friday.

I just ordered two Sylvania tubes off of fleabay, but it is just another shot in the dark. I did see two Telefunkins, but they wanted $40 for a pair. Not for me.

Glad to, and don't worry I don't want $40 for them.  Anyway, this all provided I have what I think I do.  I am going to feel like a real ass if I get home and I don't.

I wish I could find some of these tubes somewhere. Who else is sick of a pair of these freeloading tubes taking up valuable space at home?  ;D
