Hi
I recently finished my crack build and it worked flawless the first day or so, but now after about 20 hours of usage it has started to pop from the channel. This occurs only on start up and the noise is gone after about two minutes. Its also picking up noise when I touch the board or volymknobb while its on, again from the left channel.
Is this normal?

Hi Simon,
I am not too experienced but I have built a Crack and have experienced popping! It was from a loose ground connection. I would review all your black connections and make sure you don't have a cold solder or loose connection.
Don't worry there are a lot of good people on here and you will get things working soon!
Take care...Dave

Thanks for the reply!
I redid my resistance check and it indeed seems like I have a problem with the ground.
It reads 0,2 - 0,3 ohm on all terminals that should be zero.
I have reheated my black-wire solders and tighten the screw that connects the ground without success.
Can the amp take damage if used with this ground issue?

That's just the resistance of your test leads, 0.2 ohms is plenty close to 0 for our purposes.
-
Sorry, I missread the multi-meter.
The value is 2-3 ohms.
-
That's still close enough to 0 ohms. Try touching you two test leads together and see what you get for a resistance measurement. Whatever it is, subtract that from your ground buss resistance measurements to get a more accurate reading.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Any suggestion what to do next?
I have reheated all my solders and checked the ground.
I really want to get this fixed before ordering speedball.

Bear with the forum. This is a problem that has come up before and it gets solved every time.

Looking at your build, I'd touch up the joint of the white wire and the 2.49K resistor on the headphone jack.
Noise when you touch the volume knob or chassis is a grounding issue, possible with the power coming out of your wall, though it is unusual that it's just in one channel.
