Title: blowing fuses part 2
Post by: guf on March 28, 2013, 02:43:34 PM
i easily fixed the short stand off problem with 44 cents in parts.

but now I'm blowing fuses with the cs4 upgrade, it was fine for months before the upgrade. i replaced it with my unbuilt crack fuse. It was labeled the same, f1al 250, and reading the posts apparently these are fast acting instead of slow. And both my kits purchased had the same wrong fuse?

can some one instruct me on what is the right one to purchase. I had a 4 amp slow burn in and there was no problems all night. now I'm realizing that was not a good idea because i could be masking a problem. thanks in advance

Yes, you could have got two of the wrong fuse in two different kits.  You just need the slow blow version of that same fuse.

thanks just put in the slow burn 1a and seems to be working fine. interesting that i had the s.e.x without the cs4 upgrade running for months with fast acting 1a with no problem.

I'm sure it can happen -- just a sign that you did a good job and got all the soldering done well, and then the c4s will asdd some extra current draw on startup, and possibly a bit more when in use too, so that could account for the difference.

Now just kick back and listen...
