Title: Solder Tabs - just a suggestion...
Post by: Guy Boisvert on May 05, 2013, 01:05:51 AM
I always find that it is preferable to solder a short 2 inch wire [1/2 inch stripped at both ends] to solder tabs before  mounting them on a metal chassis.

In my experience, it is very easy to get a cold solder joint when trying to heat a solder tab once it is attached to a cold metal chassis.

This is a good topic to bring up.  If you loosen the hardware a little bit, the heat transfer efficiency from the solder tab to the chassis plate will drop drastically, and it will take solder as it should.

I find this particularly applicable with the Eros ground tab lug.
