From an electric clock site, but very applicable to vintage audio gear -

Too true!

Seller says: "gouges"
English translation: "bullet holes"

I remember an auction maybe 10 years ago for a receiver.  The seller stated that the bullet hole in the side made it a nice conversation piece.

My brother gave me his old Honda years ago, with a bullet hole in the driver's door. It was indeed a great conversation starter.

Friend of mine had a BMW and one night some drunk came by when the bars closed and shot the poor thing where it was parked, right in front of the house. Probably should have had a Ford, in that neighborhood.

Ok, now you have forced my hand. I had a Ford truck that I was using to haul a few boulders(one at a time). When I unloaded the first  one, I forgot that the tailgate would in no way hold the weight. Too late, off came the giant rock, and the gate suffered a slight bend(ebay description). Since I was going to trash it anyway, I took it out into a field and shot 4 .45 slugs through it. Then i drove back to town. I took my sweet time building a new gate, and in the meantime, people were weirded out! Best idea I ever had...
