I posted this on Audio Asylum, but don't know where to look for answers: I hate that Forum! This one works beautifully, so please forgive a very unBottlehead inquiry. I have Denon DRW-85 dual cassette deck, and a few precious cassette tapes that I want to copy. I DON'T want to erase or damage them.
On the off chance that any of you are familiar with dual cassette decks like mine, can you tell me how to copy from one of my valuable tapes to a blank tape? Many thanks in advance.

You should download a copy of the owner's manual (or one close enough so the instructions are essentially the same).
HiFi Engine has one for a DRW model which should be fine.
You just need to register over there for free downloads.
BTW, it's a great resource for all kinds of schematics and service manuals.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've just spent 20 minutes trying to register, failing completely. I guess I was born too long ago to ever be able to cope with Internet stuff that others find dead easy.
Best,
Tom

I was finally able to download a page of the manual, from each of two sources, Steve's and something to do with an Owl. I tried it this AM, it's dead simple but you do need to know which buttons to push and when--which I now have under control.
Thanks again for the help.

Also, IIRC cassette tapes had little tabs on the top edge that you can break off to protect from erase or recording over...John
