So I'd like to be able to control the volume on my SEX amp remotely. What are my options? I don't want to pay a lot. I'm thinking the has to be a simple, cheap DIY way that won't affect sound. Maybe some kind of small toy or device meant for use with something else that could be rigged manually to the volume knob? Anyone?

Try a remote controlled car and a turntable belt!

Neither simple nor cheap, but check this (http://www.amb.org/audio/delta1/) out.

For $130, under REMOTE SYSTEMS at this link. It is simple, but not cheap.

Gotta be under $30... I know this is possible. Maybe I should go to my local hobby shop and see.

What is your music source? Why not use the source as the volume control.
My source is a Raspberry Pi computer with a DAC. The music is played through Logitech Media Server. I use an app on my iPhone called "iPeng" to control my music and volume. There is a free app as well called Squeezeox.
Why mod the input on the amp and possibly mess up the sound when your source probably has a remote control (i.e. CD player, computer, etc.)?

3 sources. Listed in sig. The tt and CDP don't let me. I can control J.River with my remote, but it's supposed to be better sound quality if you override the system volume.

$30 is a tough price point.
The closest I can get is this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/MV02-4Way-Motorized-Remote-Volume-Control-Input-KIT-/260720330682?pt=US_Home_Audio_Amplifiers_Preamps&hash=item3cb42487ba#ht_1918wt_1018).

Slightly more than $30, but here (http://sound.westhost.com/project110.htm) is another option.

Thanks, guys. Which of these will have no impact on the sound quality? All of them?

How about buying a used integrated that has a motorized volume and hack it for the remote motor?
