Title: OLD YAMAHA MCX1000
Post by: 4krow on June 27, 2013, 10:47:20 AM
Well, I got that MCX1000 that I bought online, and for the most part, it is well worth it's price of $200. One question, when I attempt to use the optical cable, there is no transmission of data. I'm thinking bad cable, but how would  I test it?

Does the red light make it through?

Ok, so it took me forever to respond, but the deal is this: The Yamaha SACD player that I own doesn't seem to have output by either optical or co-axial. For the meantime, I used my heavy duty Cayin CD player for an optical transfer to the Yamaha MCX1000. Absolutely perfect, so mission accomplished, since I tend to like the Cayin(tube output, except of course for optical/coax).
