Title: Bad selector switch....
Post by: Dr. Toobz on July 09, 2013, 03:02:28 PM
Something is very wrong with the source selector switch on my Stereomour, which I assume is broken. It's been tight lately, not wanting to turn, and I stupidly forced it, which now resulted in it not moving in the reverse direction and not connecting the correct sides/channels. It feels like a mis-wound watch....

Though I could always call Bottlehead tomorrow and get another switch, is there a more robust equivalent available off-the shelf, such as from Goldpoint?

Yes, the Goldpoint 4 pole 3 position switch can be substituted.

Ok, thanks. On that switch, I am assuming that the "C" for every bank of three connections is the "common," and corresponds to the A, B, C, D terminals on the stock switch? So, if I keep the same wiring order for the 12 signal/ground wires and simply take the four center connections to the corresponding common poles on the Goldpoint, the wiring is essentially the same?

Awesome - thanks! I've ordered the Goldpoint switch and hope it arrives soon! Some temporary jumpers are getting me by until then.

As I have a nice ALPS pot in the amp already, I suppose I would have gotten around to upgrading the selector switch sooner or later. Not that the stock part is bad or anything....I'm just a klutz with some things, and like components that will last a long time, despite my abuse!
