The amp depends a lot on the speakers.  It depends mainly on the sensitivity of the speakers.

It also depends how much you want to spend.  Although you could build a tube amp that would sound better than any solid state amp at the same price.

I have tried two chip amps (LM3875 and LM3886) as well as commerical ones (Rowen Absolute Two mono bridged) as well as a Bob Latino VTA ST70 tube amp. The Quickie sounds fantastic with all of them. My favorite is the tube amp, which now runs in my main system.

Just my 2 cents.

but tube amps need very sensitive loudspeaker  isn't it ?

As Grainger said, a low powered SET needs sensitive speakers. A parallel or a PP design also works with average sensitivity. My speakers are 88db/1 watt at 4 ohm and I measurd well over 100db average (peaks over 110) output at my listening position, which is 4 meters away, with my 40 watt ST70 tube amp.

I think Charger's speakers are Martin Logan "Motion 15", as stated in his signature.
They are bookshelf with a sensitivity of 92 db, recommended amp are everything above 20w with a maximum of 200w.
I think a Gainclone could be a good match for them, as Michael wrote!
It's easy to build, cheap, good sounding, and with enought power to satisfy long-excursion woofers.

PS: It's also reported to work best with a tube preamp!

That answers one of the questions. 

If his room is small and listening preferences in the reasonable range, 90dB or lower average, then the Stereomour would probably work. 

Don't get me wrong.  I had a Brian Bell ChipAmp GainClone before my Paramours.  It was a sweet sounding 60WPC amp.  It replaced my ST-70.

Bonzo said right , Motion 15 are 92 db , now my Q partner is Abletec module ALC0240 , it sound very good but just for experiment, which Bottlehead amp will be nice with the Motion 15 ?
