Title: Flyleads for output caps
Post by: jt on September 20, 2013, 12:00:12 AM
I just replaced the output caps with Obbligato caps. They would fit better if I installed flyleads but I read that this is not recommended "because you lose much of the benefit of low ESR (equivalent series resistance)". Does this apply in this case or is it ok to use flyleads?

I am impressed with improvement with these caps. Thanks to all the Bottleheads for their recommendation and advice.

I'd be interested to know where that quote is from.

The quote is from the diyAudio forum:

Does this apply in this case...

No
...or is it ok to use flyleads?

Eh, it will work, but generally reliability and durability of the amplifier is decreased.
