Title: Clear Coat Transformer Bell?

Can the bare metal top of the power transformer be clear coated? Will the heat of the clear coat be affected because of the heat? I like the look of the bare metal but am a little tired of cleaning of the surface rust that develops over time. Any other suggestions?

Yes, clear coat works great. Just be sure to clean the bell end thoroughly before spraying.
