Title: Mainline XLR size
Post by: Loquah on September 30, 2013, 03:56:17 PM
Hi all,

Just wondering, is the 4-pin XLR socket on the Mainline a mini-XLR or full size XLR?

Just went to buy some bits and pieces and saw the actual size of mini-XLR plugs - feeling a little embarrassed now that I had to ask that question!!  :-[

The little mini XLRs made by Switchcraft and the like are sometimes used for headphone connections, like in the case of AKG. They're nice because they lock in place, and you can get a four pin version for balanced connections.

PFS,   Don't be too embarrassed. I had no idea that the 4 pin were a reality either. Knowing that I will be using them in some projects.
