Title: Sound fades out then stops

A few days after I built my crack, I started having the sound fade out and then no audio.  The tube was glowing, though.  The sound would come back on after I'd reconnect (or jiggle) the power cable into the board's socket.  Why is this and how can I fix it?  I tried using a different cable and got the same thing.

Sounds like a loose solder joint.  Go back and reflow the joints on the IEC connector.
