Title: Grounding TKD Shielded Volume Pot

In anticipation of my Stereomour kit I bought a shielded TKD Volume pot,

What's the best way to implement the shield? Would I just run a wire from it to ground, or would I put a diode in there to stop noise from coming back in from all the other stuff that's grounded to the same chassis? That's just a guess, so any help would be, well, helpful! Like what size diode, if any.

I think the shield may be tied to the other metal bits on the pot.  When you mount the pot to the chassis, metal will touch metal, and you may be all taken care of.

To confirm this, mount the pot and measure the resistance between that metal sheet and the chassis.  You could also check to see if the shield is simply internally connected to one of the ground lugs with your meter.

If the shield requires its own wire, just connect it to one of the input STP drain wires.

Thanks, Caucasion Blackplate! I used the continuity tester and it seems the shield is completely out of the circuit, so it looks like I'll just use a simple wire to ground with it. No need for a diode then, right?

A piece of wire will work the best IMO.
