Anyone know how a bottlhead paramount would be with a sub. Its not for me. Frequency needs to hit 10hz
-
The Paramount is listed at 16Hz/-3dB for small signals. Full power bandwidth is more like 30Hz.
I haven't looked at the distortion performance below those frequencies - I don't see the musical relevance - but if you need to go lower you probably need a solid-state amp.

Well thanks. Someone I know picked up 2 velodyne ULD 18s for there home theater and says he wants a tube amp. Anyway thanks
-
Boss,
One word, "Sensitivity." That makes SET on a Velodyne impossible. Another problem is "motional feedback."
-
A tube amp for this application would not be impossible. You might look at some OTL amps. They tent to use tubes intended as DC amplifiers.

I've tried several amps for my modified K15 bass bins. The best was a McIntosh 275. Until I tried a Bedini25. Glorious bass. But of course these use 97dB efficient drivers.
