Title: Screws too short
Post by: NishBtl on January 05, 2014, 01:10:20 PM
I'm having some trouble installing the plate chokes and output transformers onto the chassis. It seems that the screws are just a little too short or the fiber shoulder washers are slightly too thick. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to get it to work?

Thanks

It's OK to use 6-32 x 1/2" screws if the 3/8" ones aren't quite fitting.  (These are easily found at the local HW store)

Haha. I guess that's easy enough.
Thanks.

Are you certain that the fiber shoulder washers are seated correctly, with the smaller end inside the hole? This is to ensure electrical isolation and hence important, but it's not always easy to make it happen. Check also for excess varnish on transformer mounting tabs.
