Title: Trouble Loading Avatar

I tried to change my avatar back to the picture I had used just before the forum change.  I get this message:

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

What does this mean?

BTW, the words "Forum" and "Child Board" are low contrast and hard to read.  Is this an adjustment on my monitor?

It also looks like I will spend weeks modifying my old posts as they are unreadable in the new color scheme.
