Title: Replacement for HLMP 6000
Post by: Mike Ross on March 07, 2014, 11:00:24 AM
My kit is missing some parts :-( Trying to find a replacement for this LED, I found an NTE3001 red rated:

Vf - 1.65V
If - 40mA
Iv 1.0mcd
Vr - 5V

Will this work?

Have you looked on ebay that's where I brought my last ones from.

Yea, I can find them online - just trying to find a 'local' substitute; I've freed up my weekend to build my mainline so wanted to avoid ship time.

I believe it's the chemistry more than the specs that matters - it should be a "standard red" gallium arsenide, not a high efficiency or high brightness red. As far as I have been able to find out, the HLMP-6000 is the only such LED still being made.

I have a bunch on hand. If you need some I will gladly send what you need. Give me an address.

Just sayin...
