Title: Speedball Resistance Check [solved]
Post by: mSummers on March 15, 2014, 02:43:08 PM
EDIT : Solved - User Error

Just added the Speedball to my Crack and did the resistance Check. The following didn't match the manual:

T7- 1.8M and climbing
T9- 2.2M and climbing
T13- 1.4M (this read high on the original build, Paul confirmed it was ok)
B3- 1.9M and climbing
B6- 1.9M and climbing

Since B3 is connected to T7 and then to the output cap (same for B6 & T9) could those readings be caused by residual charge in the output caps?

Hello Michael,

There are no resistance checks in the Speedball manual.

With the assumption that you started with a working Crack, you need only move on to voltages.

Thanks, Paul.  I must have grabbed the wrong manual off my workbench.  I'll check the voltages in the morning.

Voltages all checked out fine.  I was worried for a second until I found the post about the T19 & T20 typo in the Speedball Manual.

The Speedball made the already great sounding amp better.  Thanks for such an awesome kit!
