Title: top HV contact output tube
Post by: josmiceli on March 16, 2014, 05:58:27 AM
I bought some 6BG6 GA tubes with the HV contact on top of the tube.
I also bought the appropriate connector for the top. Is there some trick
to soldering the cable to the connector? It looks like it would be hard to
do without doing damage to the housing of the connector. There is
barely enough room to get a soldering iron in there. Any advice is much
appreciated.

Generally the metal piece comes out of the top cap connector, then you slip the wire through the insulating cover, then into the metal contact, solder, then snap back together.

What is your plan for them?

I plan a SE stereo amp, but it's barely in the design stage.
No values, no layout yet. I'm sure I'll be back to the
vast knowledge pool later.
