Title: E80CC with stock Crack?
Post by: Stanshall on March 25, 2014, 08:43:52 AM
Hello gents.

I'm running a TS5998 on Crack (no SB) and have just got an E80CC. First impressions are that it sounds brilliant (and a fair bit better than my ECC82) but I'm also conscious of the fact that it's obviously a bit more complex than a straight drop-in. Unfortunately, despite searching and reading a few threads, I don't quite understand the whys and the wherefores!

Long story short, how safe is it considered to run this one without SB?

Thanks.

What kind of voltages are you seeing in your amp with the E80CC?

Specifically, terminals 1, 5, 7, and 9 will give a fair approximation of the operating point.

I've left my multimeter in work but I'll check tomorrow. Thanks, PB.
