Title: fixed one issue, introduced a new one [solved]
Post by: drewh1 on May 05, 2014, 05:03:44 AM
So after fixing my volume control, and inserting a tube the wrong way :-[,  JJ tubes no longer work in one channel. The Sovteks are fine, but the JJ's just hum in the left channel.  I tried three and the hum is the same.

Ideas?

You probably stretched a one of the pin holders in the socket when you inserted the tube wrong. The pins on the JJs are probably a little bit thinner then the Sovteks so they are the ones most affected. There are two small holes and two big holes in the socket. One of the small ones, that a big pin went into, would be the first thing to check to see if you can squeeze the contacts back down to size.

you're the man Doc!  I never would have thought of that.  Fixed it!  Now back to that great Stereomour sound.  Now have my eye on the headphones and a Crack.
