Title: EQ in usec for both switches (NAB and IEC)??

Guys:

I have recently bought the Eros tape head and am having my RS 1500 worked on locally. I still like to use the recording function on the machine at 15 ips. My repairman bombards me with technical questions that I am constantly unable to handle.


Does anyone know what this means or what the answer is:

If you want IEC 35 usec, then the record needs to modified to work with IEC play EQ.  It is now NAB.  Both the bass EQ and the treble EQ need to be changed in the record amp.
 
Find what EQ is in usec (bass and treble) for both switch positions (IEC and NAB).
 
Strange that the owners manual does not state that.  There are many different IEC and NAB standards.
 

Any help is greatly appreciated. I've gone down the rabbit hole...

We use the standard NAB and IEC/CCIR curves for 15ips, with a LF rolloff of 17Hz for IEC.

So just for clarification, the Eros has 3183 usec bass EQ in the NAB switch position?

Yes, that is the NAB spec.
