Title: beepre vs. extended foreplay
Post by: mozarti on May 20, 2014, 11:16:20 AM
Dear Fellow Bottleheads,

I have a Foreplay III which I like very much. I am considering to upgrade it to Extended Foreplay or go for the BeePre.  I understand the latter is better but it is also more expensive.  So I would be interested to hear your opinions about the differences between regular Foreplay III and the extended version, and between the extended version and the Beepre.  What are the specific differences? How great are these differences?

I am also curious to know the difference between the Extended Foreplay and the new Smash Preamp, since for the price of the upgrade I can purchase the new preamp.

Thanks in advance for sharing your impressions.

If the BeePre is outside your budget, go for the Smash over the Extended upgrade. The Smash sounds better, and now that it is getting ready to ship we are pulling the plug on the Extended kit.

I agree with Doc. We went through three new designs, each better than the last, to get from the eXtended FP-III to the BeePre, and PB adapted the BeePre technology to a lower price point in the Smash.

Doc mentioned an amp to go along with the Smash,is there a timeline for that project?

We are still in the developmental stages on that design.

Thanks Doc.
That should be a nice package.
