Folks, now that I have the Stereomour in the system and I am reminded how much easier it is to build the Bottlehead kits than to come up with *everything* on my own, I turn to think about the next upgrade... a replacement for the beta Seduction I've have in the system forever.
Not that there is anything wrong with the Seduction and it does have a few upgrades! (coupling caps, C4S, shielding)
For some time I've been thinking of reorganizing the system to get the preamp between the speakers. Current setup has the preamp next to the turntable about 20 feet from the speaker end of the room with a long set of interconnects running to the amps (Summer mode), or a long set of speaker cables running to the speakers (Winter mode with il monstro 845 amp). I'm a bit worried about Eros being able to drive 20+ foot interconnect cables and was wondering if there is another Bottlehead kit that could be combined with the Eros to drive that distance -- sort of a two-fer case with both top plates on a single base?
Appreciate any thoughts here --

Hey Randy, best bet would be the BeePre. Next best bet would probably be the Smash. A Crack would also do a really good job, you would just need to adapt the headphone jack setup to handle your output cables.

A 10K:600 or 15K:600 ohms transformer at the Eros output would also drive a long cable well. You will lose gain, but the Eros has more gain than Seduction - nearly enough to make up the loss.
There is always some sonic loss with a transformer, but to my ear it's still significantly better than a cathode follower. I know the Altec 15095 sounds decent, and sadly I know a lot of other candidates of high repute that have been disappointing. The Magnequest B7 series has some good candidates; I haven't heard them very much but Mike hardly ever disappoints my ears!

Hrm. Good info, I see I have some cogitation ahead... I do have a pair of 15095 Altecs I can repurpose, but I need to get that 46 preamp with the remote control slagle-former outputs off the bench in the lab first so I can cannibalize the 27 preamp in the system today.
Stereomour is burning in nicely, voices are sharpening focus and becoming more 3d - thanks again guys!

Dear Randy; five years ago Paul Birkeland built a custom BH Eros for me with MQ B7 nickel outputs so that I could have the VPI table and the phonostage in my office driving 16 foot Blue jeans cabling to the Custom BH 'Kugelis/SoulSister' linestage in the Living/listening room. This arrangement has proven to be very effective and sounds great! You can visit my thread on the phonostage for more here: http://db.audioasylum.com/mhtml/m.html?forum=magnequest&n=9738&highlight=Hank+Murrow&search_url=%2Fcgi%2Fsearch.mpl%3Fsearchtext%3DGyro%2Bse%26b%3DAND%26topic%3D%26topics_only%3DN%26author%3Dfretless%26date1%3D%26date2%3D%26slowmessage%3D%26sort%3Ddate%26sortOrder%3DDESC%26forum%3Dvinyl
You can see the final B7's in the right side of the signal section.
