I've found that the Hammond 10x6x2 boxes work quite well with the 2Q's. I also found that there are different boxes from Hammond in those dimensions. The box from Parts Express http://www.parts-express.com/hammond-1441-16-heavy-duty-chassis-10-x-6-x-2--320-820 (http://www.parts-express.com/hammond-1441-16-heavy-duty-chassis-10-x-6-x-2--320-820) has a baked on enamel finish that is very easy to paint over.
The box I bought lately from Digikey or Mouser is unfinished and a bit of a pain to work with. Part of which may be my own assumptions. I first spray painted on a coat of primer after just cleaning the box. I'm assuming more prep work is needed as that primer didn't really do a thing for me. I also attempted to use a rubberized car undercoat to dampen it and that does work quite well but you've really got to watch the overspray and mask everything off 1st.
Because my memory is getting a bit fuzzy I thought the spray paint I liked was a very high temp version for barbeque grills but I didn't get that right. Krylon for outdoor grills in the 500 degree version is the magic that I had on hand. I could have just gotten some basic black but I had three cans laying around from another project. One of which was the very high temp stuff that just didn't want to go on right.
Make sure you didn't stack components during the build higher than the box is and both the Quickie and Quicksand can go in matching boxes. I didn't use anything to attach the plates to the boxes - they sit just fine. I think if you want them attached just some simple two sided tape should work.

The important thing here is to get the 2" tall box. The recommended Hammond Hammond 1444-15 on the quickie web page is only 1" tall. That works OK until you add the PJCCS upgrade.

Addendum:
Use these sound damping sheets instead of the spray on stuff. One sheet will do 5 sides of a box with enough left over to put some on the plate. I'm not sure how much this helps the microphonics but the box is now a dead "thunk" instead of the "boing" it used to do and that's got to give at least a little advantage.
