Title: Terminal 9 & B6's voltage on Crack [solved]
Post by: flytothemoon on September 27, 2014, 10:20:26 AM
Good afternoon all.

This is my first DIY project and I don't have really much knowledge about electronic. So it will be very nice of you if you can help me troubleshoot my problem.

I just finished building my crack and went to the checking. Resistances are except 13 couldn't climb to 270. Then I did the voltage check. Everything was fine except the Terminal 9 & B6's voltage read 170V while they should be 100v.

What should I do to fix it? Thanks very much for your help.

Is the white wire that should go from T5 to B4 connected to T4 instead?

No, that white wire connects right from B4 to 5L. :( Is there anything else that might cause this problem?

More information: the 2 tubes, the 2 LEDs lit, however i was just able to listen to to right channel. Left channel was dead. :(

Can you pop up a pic of the octal socket?

A dead tube should show 0V on that terminal, so I'm thinking there's a miswire somewhere.

The octal socket is mounted incorrectly, the notch should face the front of the chassis, as per the manual.
