Will there be any sonic difference if I replace the stock .1uf/400volt cap with a higher quality one?

That cap is a bypass for the heater biasing resistor string.  The tube heaters are way, way outside of the signal path, so I really wouldn't spend any money here.  (I did when I built my first FP-II, long, long ago, oops!)
