Title: Goldpoint mounting question
Post by: sbelyo on October 24, 2014, 08:53:17 AM
I noticed that the notch in the hole for the volume pot is facing the opposite way as the notch on the Goldpoint attenuators.  Unless I'm mistaken?  If so, I have a question for the people that use them.  Did you file a new notch on the opposite side and mount it or is hole big enough to accommodate the notch?

I dont recall any issues installing mine. I'm not sure there is a left and right, it all depends on the way your looking at it?

Mine is an older model from the mid 90's, i posted some pics of it here http://bottlehead.com/smf/index.php?topic=5316.45 (http://bottlehead.com/smf/index.php?topic=5316.45)

ok, I'm probably just over analyzing.  Just order the kit but I can't open it until Christmas.  Can you say anticipation

Goldpoint has information on how to mount the pot under various situations on their website.

Yeah, I saw the nut on the top and bottom technique.  Just wondering if that's what some have done so I can get an extra nut before I start

They should come with 2 nuts.

Depending on the volume knob used i always pack washers between the pot and chassis plate to get the knob to sit down flush with the panel.  More often than not the locating pin doesn't reach the hole which has never been an issue.
