Title: Quick question with the leds.

1): Do you need them for the crack to work? If so, do you only need one?

2): Where can you buy more leds?

If I need to get new ones, can you please show me where to buy them? I really don't want to wait another 2-4 weeks just to get an led to use this amp.

Search on ebay HLMP-6000 this should give you plenty of choices on quantity and delivery options normally you have them a day or two.

If you have a speedball kit to hand you will find eight HLMP 6000 in the kit, so you could always borrow one of them until the new ones turn up. They cost next to nothing by the way, so its always good to have a few spare.

If the LED's don't glow, there's a very good chance that something else is at work besides the LED itself.

Yes you need the LED's. 

I think there is an old post around here somewhere after I built my first Crack and then received my 2nd one the very first thing I did was install the LED's on the socket because I found that to be the hardest step.

My recommendation in my post of course was to do just that.  Go to the steps regarding installing the LED's and do them first.  Then go back to step 1.
